Virus & Spyware removal

I computer virus is a computer program that infects your machine in various ways, from downloading attachments in emails, visiting a bad website or even pass across networks and via memory sticks.  They can open up a back door in your computers security to allow further infections in and eventually making your computer unusable and potentially exposing your personal information.

The term virus is a blanket term which covers all manner of infections including malware and spyware.  You normally notice infections when you get pop up advertising other sites, you could be sending out spam (junk email), your web searches can be redirected or you will see a programme open up when you start your computer saying you are infected and if you click the link to remove the infections you will be redirected to a website asking for money (usually in dollars).

Removing the infections

Removing these infections can be quite difficult.  Over the 5 years we have been operating we have not found one way of removing them.  It quite often takes various different approaches to clean a machine and it can take hours and often days to fully clean a system.

This is why we have a fixed fee for removing any infections and can only do it in our dedicated repair centre.  Sometimes we find a computer so heavily infected the only approach is for us to format the machine and reinstall Windows.  The only time the cost of virus removal will go up is if we need to backup any data before formatting.
